It was a llllloooonnngggg trip.....but I am here.
Missed my connection in Heathrow which left me with a day in London; very cool. The "quick tour" to see Big Ben, the London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Margaret Thatcher's home, delightful cup of Earl Grey and a quick beer at the pub. Not bad for a day's work. But the downside was a second overnight flight to Nairobi. Night #2 on an airplane......not cool.
After I finally landed in Nairobi, Kevin and Raphael were waiting to greet me at the airport, along with a full introduction to Nairobi traffic - an hour just to get out of the parking lot.
Next, dropped my bags at the hotel room and out the door I went. Spent the day getting to know my 12 other team members (which all had a good night's sleep - I might add). Giraffe Center in Nairobi (giraffes ate out of our hands) and the Karen Blixen home tour ( farm from Out of Africa) took up most of the day.
Check it out....the farm from Out of Africa....
And of course a team dinner with Muriuki and Kevin .....which included my first Tusker beer :-) And now off to bed, my first bed in two nights.....
Pictures to come tomorrow....
