Choma, ugali, and lessos....

We have a our midterm presentations on Thursday this week, so it has been a busy week workwise.  Lots of brainpower at work.

Our "office" at the Green Hills hotel......
its almost like being back at college.

After a long day at work, we convinced most team members to join us for a traditional Kenyan meal of choma (we had mutton/lamb) with ugali ( a staple in Kenya made from maize).  It took some getting used to and convincing from Kevin, but we all gave the traditional method of eating without forks a try.  It grows on you after awhile, just something our culture is not used to....

And the night was wrapped up with some translation help from Kevin on the lessos he purchased for me.  Lessos or kangas are traditional African blankets with African blessings in Swahili.  This one translates to "Believe God for everything and you will succeed".  Kevin traveled into Nairobi city center to get these for me...a place we are forbidden to go (IBM Corporate Security rules).  Kangas were on my shopping list....and Kevin was kind enough to make a trip to get me "authentic" lessos.....asante ana Kevin :-)
